PARADISE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
WORK SESSION MINUTES
JUNE 29, 2020
5:00 P.M.

PRESENT:  Gary Konrath, Peter Gonze, Reda Briglia, Tina Transue, Charles Unangst, and Solicitor Prevoznik.

Konrath called the work session to order at 5:00 p.m.

Short Term Rental Ordinance
Steve McLaughlin, BIU was in attendance. The Board discussed amending the Short Term Rental Ordinance. Solicitor Prevoznik explained to Steve McLaughlin that the Board was inquiring about using the Property Maintenance Code as part of the requirements that must be met before being issued a Short Term Rental License. The Board discussed which version of the Property Maintenance Code to use debating between the 2006 version of the Property Maintenance Code and the 2009 version of the Property Maintenance Code. Solicitor Prevoznik stated that the whole code could be used or only the parts of the code the Township would like to enforce could be used as the standards to be met for a Short Term Rental License. The Board decided that the 2009 version of the Property Maintenance Code would be the version used if it was decided to make it part of the Short Term Rental licensing requirement. The Board discussed sending the 2009 Property Maintenance Code to the Planning Commission for their review and recommendation as to whether to adopt the code as part of the Short Term Rental Ordinance. The Board would also ask the Planning Commission to make a recommendation on whether to use all or part of the 2009 Property Maintenance Code as part of the requirements.

The Board also discussed possibly making a minimum insurance policy of $500,000.00 a part of the requirements to acquire a Short Term Rental License.
