Board of Supervisors Work Session Minutes

A work session of the Paradise Township Board of Supervisors was held at the Paradise Township Municipal Building, 5912 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, PA.

PRESENT:  Gary Konrath, Peter Gonze, Reda Briglia, Charles Unangst, Tina Transue and Solicitor Prevoznik.

Konrath called the work session to order at 5:01 p.m.

Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company

Logan Evans, Chief, Anthony Panico, Secretary and Danny Luddeni was in attendance. Panico presented a power point presentation (see exhibit A) on their need for more funding. The Board asked to see the fire company’s financial statements as well as anticipated expenses. Evans and Panico agreed to provide the paperwork to the Board and will attend another work session in the future to further discuss the funding for the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company. There was discussion on the amount of alarms/false alarms that the Fire Company responds to.  Luddeni spoke about a nuisance fire alarm ordinance. Gonze questioned whether to speak with SFM Consulting on adding a nuisance ordinance. Solicitor Prevoznik will provide a draft False Alarm Ordinance for review.

Burn Ordinance

The Board discussed definitions and language changes for the Burn Ordinance. The Board asked Transue to look up burn ordinances from surrounding townships for comparison purposes
