PARADISE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 30, 2020

Call to Order
Chair Konrath called the meeting to order at 1:06 p.m.                              

Roll Call
Officials Present:
Gary Konrath – Chair
Peter Gonze – Vice Chair
Tina Transue – Secretary                                      

Pledge of Allegiance
Waived.                                                               

Public Comment Statement
Konrath read the public comment statement “Ladies and gentlemen, before the Board of Supervisors votes on any matter, the Board will allow for public comment on that particular item.  If you wish to be heard at that time, please raise your hand, and you will be recognized.”
Konrath stated that the meeting is being recorded for the limited purpose of preparing the official minutes.

New Business
Pa. Municipal Retirement System Minimum Municipal Obligation – Transue stated that Act 205 of 1984, as amended, requires all municipal pension plans to inform the governing body of the municipality of the plan’s expected financial obligation for the upcoming year. Transue stated that she has completed the 2021 Minimum Obligation Work sheet for 2021.
Motion: Gonze moved and seconded by Konrath to approve the 2021 Minimum Obligation Worksheet showing an obligation of $52,860.00.
Motion carried 2-0.

Other Business/Public Comment
Bear Proof Dumpster at the EMS Building – Transue stated that she spoke to County Waste, the Waste Hauler that provides dumpster service for the Township Building and the EMS Building located at 425 Woodland Rd regarding a bear proof dumpster for the EMS Building as requested by the PMREMS. Transue stated that the cost for the bear proof dumpster is $105.00 per month for a 4 yard dumpster emptied once a month instead of the dumpster currently used at the EMS Building is $73.03 per month for a 2 yard dumpster emptied twice a month.
Motion: Gonze moved and seconded by Konrath to approve replacing the 2 yard regular  dumpster emptied twice a month at the EMS Building with a 4 yard bear proof dumpster emptied once a month for a monthly fee of $105.00.
Motion carried 2-0.

Motion:  Gonze moved and seconded by Konrath to adjourn the meeting at 1:10 p.m.
