PARADISE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 30, 2018

Call to Order
Vice-Chair Gonze called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.    

Roll Call
Officials Present:
Gary Konrath – Chair (Absent)                
Peter Gonze – Vice Chair                
Reda Briglia – Supervisor                    

Briglia stated that a special meeting for today at 10:30 a.m. was advertised in the Pocono Record on April 27 for hiring a maintenance laborer and any other business that comes before the Board.

Maintenance Laborer Interviews
Gonze stated that the Board of Supervisors interviewed four applicants for the position of Maintenance Laborer on April 24, 2018.  Gonze and Briglia discussed the qualifications of the applicants and chose their top candidates for the position.  Konrath had submitted his top candidates via a letter to the Board since he was unable to attend the special meeting.  
Motion:  Briglia moved and seconded by Gonze to offer the maintenance laborer position to Applicant #1 contingent on the criminal background check, reference checks, driving record and any other pre-employment checks be satisfactory and to ratify the hiring at the next Board of Supervisors meeting and if for any reason Applicant #1 does not accept or qualify for the position that the position be offered to Applicant #2 with the same contingencies.
Motion carried 2-0.
Gonze stated that the Board of Supervisors ranking of applicants would be provided to Solicitor Prevoznik.

Resolution 01-2018
Gonze stated that Resolution 01-2018 list public records to be destroyed per the Municipal Records Manual adopted by Paradise Township.
Motion:  Gonze moved and seconded by Briglia to adopt Resolution 01-2018 as submitted.  (See Exhibit 1)
Motion carried 2-0.
 
Resolution 02-2018
Gonze stated that Resolution 02-2018 list public records to be destroyed per the Municipal Records Manual adopted by Paradise Township.
Motion:  Gonze moved and seconded by Briglia to adopt Resolution 02-2018 as submitted.  (See Exhibit 2)
Motion carried 2-0.

Other Business/Public Comment
There was no further business or public comment.

Adjournment
Motion:  Gonze moved and seconded by Briglia to adjourn the meeting at 10:37 a.m.
Motion carried 2-0.
