Proposed Wireless Communication Facilities Ordinance Review
A conference call was held with Attorney Roberts, drafter of the proposed Wireless Facility Ordinance, for the purpose of reviewing the draft ordinance.   Initially, the conference call started with Attorney Roberts explaining the current status of the law regarding wireless communication facilities and communication towers.   Thereafter, Attorney Roberts reviewed and explained the draft ordinance so that the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission could understand what was intended by the provisions of that draft ordinance.  There was a discussion over some of the provisions for which Attorney Roberts indicated there was discretion in creating the requirements of the ordinance.  Attorney Roberts was asked to highlight those areas in the draft ordinance as well as to provide a range of discretionary options which could be considered by the Planning Commission and ultimately the Board of Supervisors for inclusion into the ordinance.  Attorney Roberts was also requested to provide a model design manual to assist the Township in its consideration of the various aspects of the wireless ordinance.  At the end of the conference call Attorney Roberts stated that he would provide a revised draft ordinance with a model design manual in approximately two weeks. No actions or decisions were reached.
