Zoning

ZONING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL CONSTRUCTION IN PARADISE TOWNSHIP.

Permits are required for all new homes, additions, renovations that alter the footprint or roofline of any structure, accessory structures like storage sheds and detached garages, porches, decks, and pools. Permits are also required for yard sales, special events, commercial burning, temporary storage of nuisance vehicles, signs, and home occupations.

If in doubt, please call the Paradise Township Zoning Officer at 570-595-8840.

Paradise Township has a lot-clearing rule that prohibits removal of native vegetation within certain setback areas unless it is dead, diseased or dangerous. Don't cut down that tree without confirming compliance with this rule! Setback areas vary depending on zoning district. [Reference Section 160-12(A)(43.A) of the Paradise Township Code of Ordinance for details.]

Applications for on-lot septic systems, percolation tests and test pits must be made with the Sewage Enforcement Officer.
